Hello everyone ! Thank you for all your comments and suggestions on my previous image , much appreciated .
Here is an image from my last April's trip to Bandhavgarh. This Tigress is christened as Dotty because of D shaped stripe pattern on her left eye. Saw her sitting on the track and relaxing. It was pretty late in the evening when she finally decided to walk the track after a failed hunting attempt on a Sambar Deer. Amidst the sound of the shutter she stood still and started flexing those ears. One of the few sightings where you happen to get the Tiger all by your self with no other vehicles around. She continued her walk but we had to leave her as the exit time was almost up.
I absolutely loved those eyes !!
DPP 4.5, CS6, WB, Exposure, reduced the contrast, Curves, saturation , selective colour, cropped from the top and very slightly from right and left sides, NR, sharpening .
Canon 5D MK III, Canon 500mm f4 IS II, Bean Bag.
1/1600 sec; f/5.6; ISO 4000.
Looking forward for all your comments and suggestions.
Really nice capture Haseeb, the shallow depth of field really suits this image. Would be nice if she had her ears pointed forward also, but can't have everything! She does look thin, needs to get that deer...

Hi Haseeb, awesome image of this majestic and most regal of big cats, you are making me wish my life away with this one .
Techs look spot on and goes to show, good SS and pushing the ISO the 5D3 delivers. Well framed, love the bokeh backdrop, open jaw and stare! I'll let Andreas do the final colour touch but I'm wondering about a Luminosity layer, a hint more Saturation, tweak the whites in Curves, but all with subtle amounts. Personally I might have lost the few rocks right on the FG crop.
You should be well pleased with this one, well done, it rocks IMHO.
Superb POV and eye contact, love those ears pulled back! Perfect framing and killer BG. Ticks all the boxes for me, very nicely processed too. All I would suggest is perhaps a tad more vibrance, or saturation, if possible.
PS Those eyes are mesmerising, I just cannot believe the colour...You made my day with this
For me this is just about perfect! I think the colours are absolutely beautiful and I really like the facial expression, she looks pretty relaxed to me.
A real top notch shot here and a pleasure to view. Eye level perspective, interesting pose, non-distracting but interesting environment, and those wonderful eyes all equal a beauty of a shot.
Hi Haseeb .....
Awesome looking Dotty .....the posture and that look she gave is making this frame simply stunning .
Took the liberty to tweak a bit ....different what Steve suggested .....but will see what you and Steve are thinking about my tweaks . Biggest " issue " for me was the blues/cyans left in the whites and blacks . i added one luminosity blending to the red/green channel at x %
TFS Andreas
BTW i wished for such an encounter ....MAN !!!!!!!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and suggestions.
@ Andreas - Have you posted the RP or have mailed me ? I can't see it in pane no 8 or in my inbox. Please do post here, would love to see how those tweak have benefitted the image.
hi Haseeb - A very beautiful frame of this majestic cat. The open mouth and eye contact are great, I too noticed the blues in the whites and Andreas' rp has addressed them. Nice one.
I remember your blue eyed girl,I loove Andreas' repost.
Haseeb, this is one of your best the it's a stunning frame , ahh my friend you earnt this I adore the pov but then you knew I would
my heart felt congratulations ,a thing of beauty and a joy to view .
I guess i'm watching you guys learn too my friend!! It's been wonderful watching you grow as an image maker.I'm so thrilled for you bro. As well as the tiger the blue (startlingly so eyes) the track here really works for me I love the snake in it and that pov
Absolute stunner, Haseeb. I'd say you are very lucky for such an encounter as I gather they are not that easy to see in the wild. Andreas' repost has lifted a notch although the original looked fine to me. I think the limited DoF works very well here and has probably helped the background too. The other critiques have covered this well. The only thing I would do is remove that light grass stalk on the lower left against the OOF background - only because the rest of that part of the frame is completely OOF so it stands out distractingly for me. Top notch shot regardless.
