Taken at the Pumphouse on Boundary Bay in S. Delta, B.C. late in the afternoon, with a warmly glowing sunset behind me. The tide was out and there were a number of these and Greater Yellowlegs pottering around in a little tidal marsh outflow. 7DII, Sigma 150-600mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO Macro, ISO 800, f/10, 1/2000, tripod.

These guys can be tough to approach, so well done in that aspect. The main issue here is the foreground. Either getting down to eye-level (if possible), or waiting for the killdeer to wade into a cleaner area, would have been good. I like the feather and perfect head angle.

Lovely little bird, and late afternoon light gives the image a nice feel. I agree with Dan that the image would have been better without the mud flat in the foreground but from experience know that we capture the image where we find them. Thank you for sharing, Bob.
