Hi folks starting of this month them for me ...
Photographed this female in golden morning light when i got very lucky on all counts, by finding the herd under the best light conditions an they played the game with me for a short time .Then they moved out of my reach , but in the end i was very happy to have seen them close by in golden light .
I was very unsure about the crop for this one .

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 500 IS L
    HH

    F 6,3 ; ISO 5000 ; 1/2000 Auto Iso ; man exp ;

Processed with C1 and PS CC 2018 ; cropped for comp to 75 % of FF from all sides

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous thread

    Cheers Andreas

The light is really stunning buddy, always wonderful detail in your images!! The bison just glows love the wet beard nice bkg too. It's a lovely portrait mate I have no nits on colour or processing but am curious about your insecurity about the crop

Hi Andreas, excellent fur detail here, and I really like the light too. Good DOF throughout the Bison, and Im fine with your comp.

Hi Andreas, the side profile works along with the warm light. Techs look good, but personally I would loose the blue in the horns only.

Hi Andreas - Beautiful light that shows off that reddish color and the side profile works well with lots of detail. Nice creamy bokeh too. It's hard to comment on the crop choice without seeing what the ff was. Nice one overall.

    Rachel

Beautiful work Andreas. No nits from me on this. Tone, colour and detail all superb from my perspective and background is perfect. I also think the composition is fine and represents a lovely portrait. If I was to try hard to find something to criticise, the only thing I can think of is that the perfect side-on view is too much like a police 'mug shot' - but that's really stretching it!

Auto ISO and manual exposure eh? Sounds good to me High quality image and beautiful colours, I like the crop though I suspect perhaps you were considering to include a little more at the top?

    Hello Andreas,

Wonderful close-up, colours and tonality really great, superb detail Boetie. Are they really this red, or you " warmed " things up a bit? I do like it as presented, just asking.

Happy with the framing, but...just a thought...maybe try flip it?
    Superb work my friend, congratulations

    Kind regards,

Thanks Gabriela , much appreciate your comment .
Nothing warmed up ....they did appear that red in that morning light .
Well as always and with every image ...... i have tried to flip it ...but as always i reverted back to original . Maybe next time i move around the animal and shoot into the sun ....to have it coming into the frame from the RHS , how does that sound

    Cheers Andreas

Truly beautiful. Amazing creatures, your images really do them justice. No need to shoot into the sun unless you really want to. Just flip it, man It sometimes feels so right when the subject enters the scene from the RHS.

Have a lovely rest of the week! I spent a few hours with two Kalahari lions today, tell you more later...

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Andreas -- I have loved all the bison images and this one is another spectacular image. Loved the side profile , with that lovely warm light and splendid colours in the fur. Excellent details as well . The OP is just perfect for me . Do keep sharing these bison images , absolutely a treat to watch .

    TFS !
