    Default Buffalo

I'll start us off for November's Theme of Animals with Antlers, Horns or Tusks. Here's a Cape Buffalo taken in the Timbavati Game Reserve, South Africa in August 2016. It was munching on the leaves and then seemed to push his head through and the bush. Although it looks like he was sticking his tongue out at us, he really was just eating.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Hi Rachel a great way to start this month theme ...with a Dagga Boy .
Overall a very nice frame with some tongue action .......does make it look different.
Lovely processed , you have some nice light and a good tonal range .The cracks in those massive horns are looking very nice and are giving a good 3D feeling in that area .

Ha! I was just looking through photos last night and had a couple of buffalo shots that might be worth posting for the theme. You've beaten me to it! Nice work here, Rachel. I like the tight crop and good to get light without too much shadowing on the animal so your tones and detail look very good on this. I like the dozy look on the animal although I'm sure (from what I've heard) that they are very dangerous and unpredictable. That foliage around the head provides some good framing but not fussed about all the branches and sticks at the bottom of the frame - nothing you can do about that though. Thanks for kicking off the theme!

Hi Rachel, love the light in this, and you have brought out sharp detail throughout the big guy. Good DOF on the Buffalo, and the protruding tongue takes this up a notch.
