Now on his own due to his mother Furaha's sudden death last season, see here: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...aha?highlight=

This 2 year old male leopard named Moyo (Swahili, meaning heart) locks eyes on a small herd of impala through a thicket as the long hot dry season would soon come to an end.

I return here for a month long assignment for Tera Mater & the BBC and fly out today, to one of my favourite NP's in Africa. So will catch you all again early December!

Gorgeous shot of a gorgeous animal. He definitely has a 'young' look to him so was surprised to see he is already 2 years old. Colouring of the animal is quite dark too. Rendering of tone and colour here is excellent, as is the detail. I'm less sure about composition (a bit off the left maybe)? But minor. Wonderful frame and the best for your trip.

Hi Marc -- A lovely portrait , nice details and colours look lovely. I might have gone for a bit mor DOF for the snout to be sharper but still working as presented. A bit more space at the bottom of the frame for my liking. A fine image nonetheless.TFS !

All the very best for your trip , wish you get some great images on this trip.

Beautiful love the pose and stare, colour and details excellent. I don't know if you have another 1cm at the base? (I feel the whiskers a just a tad too close to the edge).
DOF is tight but I suspect intentional it concentrates attention on the left eye, I think maybe a tad more DOF would have been beneficial but I really like the image as presented.
