Unfortunately after this little spat was that they all tended to drift over to the area where the grass was more uniform having the appearance of a lawn almost so I felt photography became impractical.
(Hope the techs indicate a glass of malt may be taken ce soir!)

Jon, I can drink to that! I like the earth being kicked up in this shot although it took a moment to spot it. There's some nice action captured with that bellow but I would be hoping for a less awkward pose. Not sure about that big clump of grass either which made me think whether this could be cropped to chop a fair bit of it off and turn this into a much tighter shot? Colour, tone and detail look very nice.

Hi Jon, I like the colours, the pose, the details and comp. Nice work. That 100-400 II is wicked good piece of glass!

Is it a single malt, Jon?

Love this, nice colours and the pose is superb! Great techs too, lovely work my friend.

Here's another version, just for fun. Sorry I removed your signature, a bit of a sloppy brush there:) I feel this might work a wee better with the subject entering the scene from the RHS, what do you think?

    Have a wonderful week,

Good idea Gabriela I think it works better. I sometimes do flip images but this one never occurred to me.
Yes indeed a single malt 18 yr old, it was a bit special my wife bought for my birthday... not much left I regret to say.

Hi Jon this does look quite unusual in terms of posing ...but i like this one a lot .
The bellowing does look completely new now !!!! Congrats !!
Nice overall tone and colors , the detail is looking very good as well . As always i am 50/50 on that flippy flappy thingi , but after some time of looking i think it does look flipped slightly better .

Keep those stags coming . TFS Andreas

Jon - I'll raise a glass too. I like this with a bit of a dramatic pose, nice colors and tones. Good rack of antlers too. I never flip and don't see a need to do so.

    TFS,
    Rachel
