North american beaver swimming in the early spring. This is most likely the most trapped animal in America and Canada. They are most active at night this one was photographed in the early morning. Image adjustments in Lightroom.

    Hand held, medium sized crop.

Hi John - A good look at the beaver swimming. I wonder about the wb and color. I would expect the beaver to be more deep brown than red. I would also crop down from the top to remove the whitish blobs at the top of the frame.

The first thing that struck me about this was the colour. I guess a result of the early morning light. Otherwise, detail, tone and colour look great. Nice catchlight and sense of motion. I agree with Rachel about taking a bit off the top of the frame. Thanks for sharing.

Nicely caught Jon but I too think the colours are a bit off.

Hi John nice to see a beaver ...a bit unfortunate that he has already passed you when you took the shot .
Not sure about the color , might be with Rachel on WB .
I would go for pano crop in this case , i think will have more impact on the viewer .

Would echo the above thoughts here John, but also going lower would have a better link, it is possible.

Nice to see a beaver John. I would crop this more, if the IQ holds. I love the concentrated look on the face.

    Hello John,

Lovely sighting, I like the POV and especially those ripples in the water. Unsure about the colour overall here. Would love a close-up if the IQ can handle it.

Thank you so much for sharing, John.

Wishing you a great week ahead,
    Gabriela Plesea
