Portrait from landscape crop. I have based this processing on the feedback from the previous post, perhaps a little better?
Hopefully next week I will get some good light and go for f8 and a faster shutter speed- fingers crossed.

Hi Jon - I'm back from a quick trip but haven't checked out all of the posts I missed, just starting with the recent stuff. Love the grasses in the antlers and the open mouth (getting ready to bellow?). The neck and body look a bit crunchy and I also feel like there's a bit too much oof mush at the bottom of the frame. You could go tighter above if so desired. Good luck in getting the better light.

    TFS,
    Rachel

I like this more than the previous image, Jon. Colours are great, framing works, good detail, subject stands out very nicely and HA is perfect.

The grass bunch he is carrying around looks like a huge nest

Works for me as presented, nice PP work, love it!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Jon well this is great ...does look better than the previous one for me.
Like it for the same reasons as the previous one , the action and bellowing is stunning.
I would just choose a portrait format and i do agree with Rachel on the too coarse appearance in the fur .
    Keep them coming !!!!!

Thanks everyone I did have slight reservations over the fur but he was soaking wet..... and very smelly!

I will have a look, (it could be the 20% soft light mask I applied prior to sharpening - maybe a little too much)

Hi Jonathan -- Another lovely image of this specie , nice settings and vertical framing works . Some nice suggestions above , agree on the coarseness of the fur , but all in all a very nice image . enjoying this series , keep them coming .

I like it a lot. A bit more under or try with a square format

All nits already mentioned, but a nice look at this male. In fact I think I shot him myself last week as it looks like Tatton going by the lake in the BG. Hopefully they'll be really going for it soon (not too soon thought as I'm away next week!)

    Mike
