Hello everyone, thank you for all your comments and especially the suggestions on my previous theme image.

Here is another image for this months theme and what better than the mighty Lion. This is an evening shot not very late but light was fading quickly. I love the monochromatic images of the Lion and wanted to capture atleast one such frame of an adult Lion on my last trip to the Mara. Went by the suggestions on my previous post and also visited various BW images from other photographers on the internet. Looking forward to learn and build upon this genre of photography. All your suggestions are most welcome.

DPP 4.5 , CS6, BW conversion, curves, clarity, shadows, contrast , cropped from the top , remaining sides are as it is , NR ( one round ) , sharpening .

Canon 5D MK III, Canon 500mm f4 IS II, Bean Bag.

    1/640 sec; f/5.6; ISO 5000.

    Cheers,
    Haseeb.

Really lovely tones in this shot, Haseeb. The regal pose is great too and I like the framing and composition here. I'm not sure what that is under his left eye though? No nits from me on this one. Great work.

Thank you Glenn and John. It is some kind wound of wound , may be while hunting down a hippo( this was after he had consumed heavily on a Hippo kill ) or in a fight .

    Nice 'regal' pose here Haseeb.

I think you could tweak the White slider a bit more and the Tonal Curve to gets some more Light & Darks into the image. Looks a bit noisy overall, was the image under exposed?

No Steve , It wasn't under exposed , lifting the shadows might be giving you that look ?

Hi Haseeb a cool looking Lion , captured in a nice pose . Does look as he was quite relaxed , just looking at his surroundings .
I do like the conversion and the overall tonal balance , but why not trying Steve´s suggestion . To be honest i do not see any visible amount of noise , maybe check my glasses .
Keep looking and experimenting Haseeb ....
