I was glad to see some Wood ducks Sunday evening! I took this with my Canon 7Dll and 100-400ll, 1.4x lll at 560mm, f/8, 1000iso, 1/2000, hand held.

What a great mood created with the colors with this image. Love it. Wish I could make some editing suggestions, but really nice as is. Perhaps a little tighter crop to get rid of some of the stuff in the foreground and bring the bird in a little closer? Nice!

Beautiful lighting and a lovely pose on the bird. I may try to 'clean up' the BG a wee bit. Very pleasing to the eye. Well done Michael.

Love the pose light and that eye really pops. I think the two suggestions above would help. Really nice colors throughout. TFS

Great light and atmosphere Michael. I like the pose and the golden reflection behind the bird highlighting it. Framing and composition also looks good to me but I also think this would work well with a bit off the top of the frame to make it a little more panoramic. The only issues I have is that it looks a little soft (but maybe that fits with the 'mood' of this frame) and the hot highlights/missing detail on the breast of the bird. Minor points though - still a lovely image.

Beautiful lighting and mood here. Also love the pose and color palette. Nice wing position as well. I would lower the yellow saturation a bit on the bird especially. It will help with the hot highlights and with giving the bird a slightly more realistic look. Canon sensors just don't deal well with this kind of light. The images always come out over saturated and you need to make up for that in post.
