    Default Pine Siskin

While visiting the Old Faithful area geysers and springs in Yellowstone NP last September I came across this Pine Siskin. Having only taken my walk-around 18-200 lens I didn't get too close. This was taken handheld using a Nikon D200 200mm f5.6 1/750sec ISO 200.

I like the subject and the composition, but there are a few bright streaks in the BG that could be toned down (one behind the bird and a few top right corner). The cropping is starting to show its effects.

    Hi Mike,

There is a strong contrast in this image. Allowing to bring extra distraction to the BG and image. The head also looks soft compare to the body of the bird. With that said, the composition works for me.

    Thanks!

I like the pose and perch. The BG is a bit distracting, maybe you could try to blur it
