Red-billed Oxpecker
Photographed in early morning light in Chobe National Park, Botswana. The oxpecker is on the back of a young male Impala among a larger herd of these. A little taken off the left otherwise full frame.
Thank you for taking a look and any comments you may wish to share.
Capture details: Canon 80D with EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM at 400mm handheld. Manual exposure 1/800 sec, f7.1, ISO 800. Processed in Canon DPP 4 (digital lens optimiser @ 50, sharpness = 3, crop, lighting adjustments, default NR) then exported 16 bit TIFF to Photoshop Elements with Neat Image NR plugin. Very light NR applied to bird and impala and stronger NR to background. Main subjects only sharpened in PSE (Sharpness tool, remove Gaussian blur) after final size reduction.

I like this that orange and red really stands out.

Very nice view of this bird Glenn in its natural surroundings. The bill and eye stand out well against the other colours. Love the detail on the 'perch' and the ear and part horn on the Impala adds so much to the image.

I love oxpecker. I did not get a chance to photograph them as of today. I hope to do so in future.
I love the bill.
From Composition, would be it better if you have move left and avoided ears and horn on the Imapala, its just a though.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Krishna. I was also unsure about the ear and horn but on balance liked it more in than not. It added emphasis to the impala being part of the frame here rather than just a bit of foreground/perch for the oxpecker.
