Yes, shame about the perch but the rest is really stunning. That blue is electric and just magic. IQ, tones and background all excellent. Great DOF too. I'd be tempted to shave a bit off the top of the frame but no big deal. The shot works well as is. Thanks for sharing.

It is a wonderful image of a beautiful bird. Lighting, focus, detail, background all working together. I don't mind the perch but would like to see it level.

This is a very nice image despite the backlight/sidelight. SH and image design are spot on. And I do not hate the perch. You did well handling the resulting problems. My favorite colors and feathers are the shaded ones :)

ps: you might try setting up a few thin, attractive, just-taller-than-the-tallest barbed wire perches near the nest boxes ...

I don't mine the perch at all ...... lots of bird species seem to prefer barbed wire ...... even the rusty stuff
