This is my favourite species and I have tons of slide colour photographs of RN nightjars but just a bunch oo digital images. This was my very first digital image of my beloved "chotacabras" (its name in spanish) and I made it using a Nikon Coolpix 4500 attached to an Swaroski scope. The bird was so close that I needed to made three images to create a panoramic image in Corel Photopaint. Considering that the Nikon Coolpix 4500 is a 4Mp camera, the resulting image is about 11Mp.
    No exif data, sorry

This doesn't look so bad for a digiscoped image. Could it be that the aspect ratio is a bit off?

    Hi Juan,

I've seen this technique used before, for instance, a Magnificent Quetzal by Todd Gustafson in a featured article from Costa Rica, was made with 6 images and I know this is also done with Dragonflies to increase DOF.

You have been doing creative digiscoping!! Congrats on getting your bird in digital :)

Impressive image for a digascope, Juan. Nice work with the stitching.

Juan very nice digiscoping technique on an interesting bird. I've no experience in the technique nor the beautiful bird. Thank you for sharing.
