I had the good fortune to meet and do some shooting with Jake Levin. We met and went out looking for shorebirds around New York City. We were walking under a beach club and there were two of these hiding in the shade and out of the very strong blowing wind. Immediately I said get down and lets hope they move into that little sliver of sun. As luck would have it one of the two did.

This is really lovely Isaac with a lot to take in and admire re: the lighting. Very dramatic setting with nice details throughout and perfect light angle. Love the ruffled feather pose. TFS

Superb use of light and the bird itself is exquisite. Just simply a very well executed shot

Wow! the lighting is really good here, and good use of the shadows! also incredibly sharp.

The bird really stands out against the background, almost 3D, fabulous feather detail and nice head angle.
    A beautiful image.

The IQ is off the charts on this image.
I wasn't sure about the shadow/light at first but this has grown on me and I like it! Well seen,
    Gail

Hi Isaac, well done for being patient, and as they say, patience pays off. Absolutely nailed with the light, and this guy is tack sharp. Love the feather detail, low shooting angle, and he just pops so well against the darker BG. An opportunity well used.

I love the spot light effect on this one. Killer details and a great looking specimen with a perfect head angle and that dark background really sets him off beautifully. Well done
