What fun. I don't think I've seen a juvie Coot posted here before. I love the bright red eye of the parent, the bit of vegetation, and the wonderful pose.

Very cute and wonderful moment captured, William. And your timing getting this shot just before the theme closes is excellent - and a nice fit to the theme as well. Composition looks good to me. The only minor issue for me - and it's one I've had with these birds too - is that extreme contrast between the black and white. Some of the shadows on the adult look blocked and the whitish on the juvenile's head and crown on the adult could be pulled back just a tiny bit, I feel. Overall, a very nice frame that I like a lot.

Really nice one. I agree with Glenn re: the shadows on the adult and some of the whites on the juvi. I love the bit of green in the frame too and such a nice look at those eyes. Very sweet BG as well. TFS
