    This was taken from a kayak, tripod legs held under bungee cords on front deck and the head angled to 90 degrees. This gives a lower angle and is steadier than I can handhold.
    Canon 300D, sigma 170-500 mm lens, ISO 400.

    Nice image,Dave. i like the reflection and the color of the water. Background is a little busy and the birds face seems a tad soft. Cool subject.

    Great angle and pose. I agree with Dan regarding the BG and it needs a bit CCW rotation.

    This has the look of an image that was well under-exposed and then lightened... It could use a contrast boost and darker middle tones. I like the BKGR reflections.

    Dave- I agree- a little too much Shadows and Highlights perhaps? Needs about -2 or more degrees of rotation. Great subject and nice rendition of bird.
