In Feb this year, three baby great horned owls were born from the same parents. You're seeing one of them two months later.
S5, 200-400 @ 200mm; f5.6 1/125 sec; ISO 400; manual exposure mode; no flash.
I have another shot with the owl looking at the camera, but the pose is different and it doesn't show the entire owl from head to tail. I cropped off some dead space and did my best to clean up the background. Given that they were always on a tree in a wood, I find it difficult if not impossible to get a shot of them with a clean background. Most of the time, there were leaves and branches in the way. This was one of the few occasions that I saw the owl with a clear view.

I like it a lot Desmond !!! Difficult to find them this open Real good detail on the face, maybe a tad more of a turn to have both eyes visible I see the area Nonda is talking about Excellent image !!!
