This juvenile Semipalmated Plover was photographed last Friday evening at Miller Field in Staten Island, New York. I had to be lying down in typical shorebird habitat which is a combination of muck, poop and who know what else! It was a perfect and cloudless sky with beautiful golden light. This is just about full frame. Bird was so close that I did not have enough depth of field to get the feet in the sharp focus.

Beautiful image of a moderately worn juvie. I am fine with the sharp eye; the heck with the rest. Love the BKGR tones too.

    with love, artie

Lovely little Plover, handsome pose (foot and all), nice BG and good POV. Thanks for sharing it.

Lovely looking frame with great detail on the bird. The POV shows the subject perfectly

Great low POV with a complimentary BG. Love the raised foot / water falling. I'm okay with the DOF here. Killer sun angle. TFS

Hi Isaac, great low perspective, and I like the colours on this Plover. Well timed to capture the raised foot, and the trailing water from the toes add interest. Nicely posed against a killer clean BG.
