I have a shot without the second dunlin in the backgorund but i prefer this one. I think it adds more to the picture.
I wonder what you think about it.
Hi Tomasz, Lovely angled walking pose from the Dunlin, and I like the diagonal beach line. The Dunlin is nice and sharp, and I feel the OOF Dunlin is not working here. With it not being there, the front Dunlin would really pop against your smooth beach BG.
I'm with Stu on this. The in-focus Dunlin is lovely, in breeding plumage with good colors and sharpness, and a nice pose. The OOF one doesn't add to it, IMHO.
I like this shot including the OOF bird even though it is obviously going to divide opinion. I think the shape of it in the background reinforces (in mirror form) the shape of the focussed bird. There's a lot to like about the rest of this shot too. Nice detail, colours and tones; excellent background and low POV. The composition works for me too. A very pleasing shot.
I can see why you like the second bird, but I think a better juxtaposition between the two would have been better IMO. The front Dunlin is exquisite, and I like the diagonal caused by the slope. If mine I'd surely remove the black oof spot almost touching the toe.
I have looked at the image a few times now and have decided I do like it! It is a little unusual and makes for an interesting shot. I think the front dunlin has a slightly compressed histogram, the blacks are just clipping as are the highlights.
