My favorite bird of all. It is not often i cross paths with a juvenile reddish egret so i was delighted the opportunity in South Texas last year. Before sunrise i walked along tidal flats and came across this juvenile hunting for fish. This image was taken after a quick fluff and he soon returned to catch his meal.
Nice fluffed-up look, good alert pose and lovely background colors. I'm curious to know where this was. I had one on the Bolivar Peninsula a few years back in a setting much like this. It was a very windy day and for some reason I was unable to come away with any critically sharp images. I think my AF didn't like the wind in the fluff.
Beautiful shot in gorgeous light. The neutral colour of the water is excellent and background tops it off, contrasting so well with the clarity of the bird. Tones and colours of the bird very well handled. A top shot. No nits from me. Thanks for sharing.
I really like this Ann.
Love the BG and the way the shoreline zigs zags in.
Fluffed up pose is fun.
I feel that the image is a bit dark and might try increasing the exposure and/or brightness a bit.
