White-tail buck with antlers fully grown and velvet peeled off. This image was made about a half hour after the rain stopped. Watched this buck eat a ton of pears on the ground and off the tree. Then he decided it was time for a break. Image adjustments in Lightroom. Hand held, full frame.

Sharp image well composed, you chose the moment well you were lucky to get one so sharp at 1/100 sec. I get the feeling the image has a little too much yellow in it.

Hi John - Again you did well at the slow ss, you must have steady hands. I agree with Jon on the yellows and given the rainy conditions might go for a cooler WB.

This is one lovely image, John. I really like it, well composed and such a nice 3D feel to it.

Is the species so light in colour? I am quite tempted to add more "oomph", but not sure what the species looks like in real life. Nice detail and I particularly like the separation between subject and BG. I did take the liberty to " borrow " your image, made a curve adjustment and played with the colours a bit - this is how I see it, roughly done and not sure this meets your approval, please let me know what you think?
And yes, you have some steady hands and a good technique, not bad at all for 1/100s

    Have a lovely evening,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Beautiful capture John. I like this a lot. Really crisp and love the oof grass at the bottom. I don't know what this animal looks like in real life but I think Gabriela's repost looks better in terms of tones and colours. Thanks for sharing this one.

Hey Gabriela, I like the repost. This buck shed his summer coat and is growing into his winter one. It will be darker but takes a week or two to fully come in.

Thank you John, and I hope to see some buck in winter coat soon

    Have a great week-end,
