    6.00pm
Late afternoon golden hour and 5 (of 6) lion cubs watch as mum and her sister head off on a hunt, a baby sitting auntie is closeby. There's always one that doesn't read the script.

    Too sweet

Had this crazy thought while viewing this frame, please don't get cross with me as I could not help but crop heavily and get really close to those little guys, they are awesome. RP very roughly done and it's just another option...I guess I am missing the Kalahari too much?

Nice techs Marc, super sighting well captured, always precious to see and photograph lions in their environment! And yes, ISO 1250 a breeze for the D5

Thank you so much for sharing, a pleasure to view,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Marc - Yes, there is always one (or two) that don't cooperate but this still works quite well. Nice choice on the dof and colors look good. I would not go with as severe a pano as Gabriela did but the sky doesn't add much here other than the pop of color so I would crop about half of the sky out for an alternate crop.

    TFS,
    Rachel

A lovely image Marc. Nice techs & the comp works for me, I may only prefer taking some sky off at the most. Nice light & details.

Agree, somewhere between the two crops would work better for me. This is a lovely moment captured and I don't mind that some of the cubs weren't 'on message' here. IQ, tones and colour all look excellent. I note you were at f13 and seem to have tons of DOF.

Hi Marc -- A nice scene , lovely colours and nice eye contact with most of them. I would opt for a crop something between your OP and Gabriela's RP, as i feel the sky isnt adding anything to the image. A nice one though !

What a lovely image. I agree that less blue sky would add to its appeal

I kinda like the idea Gabriela is going for. Maybe with just a little more headroom. This may sound blasphemous, but along with the crop I'd take a look at it in b&w. Regardless, it's a lovely scene without changing it a bit.
