Mountain bluebird with a grub. Canon Xti, 400mm f5.6 lens. The color saturation was not adjusted on this picture - these birds are an intense blue that is almost unreal. I did burn in the post a little and sharpen around the eyes.

Hi Dave - nice looking bird, Exposure looks good, BG is gorgeous bit of noise visible though.

Hope you dont mind - I sharpened the eye and applied a bit of noise reduction (Should have only applied it to the BG - but im feeling lazy applied to whole image)

Excellent re post !! Thanks Lance !!!

I like the bird a lot, good pose and real sweet light !!! Blues are not usually a problem as reds but might want to reduce the blue channel just a tad. I know these birds are strongly colored but this might be a little more due to the sensors.

Excellent leaving a little extra room up front and less on the back side Excellent bg and sweet light !!!!

Great capture and re post.Would have liked a little more canvas in front of the bird.
