Captured this guy about two weeks ago. He has been hanging around my backyard feeders, and by now has started to look a little better.

D500, 500f4, ISO 1000, 1/3200s @ f/7.1 manual. (I had been set to catch a hummingbird when this guy flew in.)

He he...this could actually be an adult - a few of them go through molts where only the head is affected for a time. Same happens with some of the cardinal around here too. Nice image overall. There is the one brighter leaf that could be toned down, but good composition and processing.

This is obviously a Lapwing Jay, normally found in Never-Neverland.

Wow this is a crazy looking one! I really like the BG and how the perch frames the subject. Agree with Daniel that that one leaf could be toned down. The berries are a nice touch. Good detail throughout. TFS

Itoo, think this may be an adult who is molting his head feathers.
Nice image with good POV, great BG and love the clear eye,

Thanks guys. I had no idea the adult jays did this. We have 4 or 5 that regularly hang out at our feeders, and I've never noticed such an extreme molt. Maybe just a bad hair day on occasion. Thanks for the comments.
