Here's another frame of what I assume was sibling horseplay between two juvie Solitary Sandpipers, from last Sunday.

    D500, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 1600, 1/2500s @ f/8 manual. Another relatively large crop

Pretty neat behavioral image. It is rare to see one of this species let along multiples. It looks to me as if both heads could use some selective sharpening with a strong Contrast Mask, maybe 20/80/0.

Thanks Artie. Here's a repost with a bit more sharpening of the heads. Maybe a bit crunchy now. I'm not sure I can pull too much detail out of the largish crop. WDYT?

Thanks for the repost. See my comments on the other one as they apply here to. In spades.

Great fun moment captured, Bill. These characters were certainly fun to watch and photograph.

Good action. Very hard to capture. Did you move the upper bird or is this as shot?
Agree with you that the repost is starting to get crunchy. Fun series you and Geoffrey got!

Thanks Gail. This one is as shot. No hanky-panky, as you say. Some Levels and WB adjustment on the birds, NR on the BG, and USM.
