Gray fox kit at den entrance. There is a big blade of grass right up against the lens on the right. Image adjustments in Lightroom. Hand held, full frame.

Hi John - A definite cute factor here. Nice to see a faster ss here. The light looks a little strong. If it were mine I would back off on the reds slightly and also the contrast.

    Hi John,

Nice image. I like the eye contact. The light looks a bit harsh but you handled it well. A slightly lower POV would have been desirable but is not always possible.

    Regards,
    Ken

Adorable little chap I like this image, John. Good techs and I feel you have achieved a nice compromise here, just enough separation from a busy BG and the face of the subject stands out quite nicely. Indeed a crowded frame but such is the environment where you found him/her. Cannot comment on colours as I have never seen the species, but I must say the greens do not bother me, to me they "mask" some of the wood and frame the subject quite well. POV works for me and eye contact is great.

Curious whether there were any siblings present, and was mom around too? Did you capture this early morning or late afternoon?

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

A very pleasing shot John, I like the light, the fox clearly visible & good details. TFS.

Hi John is this FF or cropped and if so a small or large amount?

I think John as I have said before, if you get your WB correct you can then take the image in what ever direction you like, but it will look far better. I like the way the cub looks to camera, but the foliage on the LHS is a tad distracting.

The attached is where the WB needed to be before any colour management is adjusted, albeit I did desaturated the leaves, but the blacks are clipped in the OP. I also feel that you could drop the exposure just a fraction overall, but your call.

    TFS
