    Late afternoon at Washoe Lake in Nevada. Cowbirds aren't particularly attractive but I like this guy's rich brown head. I tried to bring out more detail in the black breast but it's blocked...

    Canon 40D; Av f5.6; 1/500; ISO 160; 100-400 @400

    Hi Katie

    I think you needed the light more from behind you to get detail in the black, light seems to be more from the right. I do like the bg color Very complementing for the bird's colors. would rather have an all even bg Do like the space given to the bird !!! All very sharp and great head angle !!!

    Nice shot Katie. I actually think cowbirds are attractive and you got a good one. Great attitude on this guy.

    I like this a lot Katie - would just crop a little from the right side of the picture.
