Early morning light in Cape Town is just pure magic, and when these two Yellow Billed Ducks flew overhead, I took a few shots and was surprised at the result. I quite liked how they displayed opposite wings - one up, the other down.

Wow - a really great shot. Yes, the alternate wing positions make it, as does the great light and IQ. Framing/comp looks great too. Nothing much more I can add except that I'm envious.

Hey Stu, I echo the previous comments... nice work. Sharp detail, pleasing colors, beautiful birds, simple composition brings it all together. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice Stu. Nice and sharp and light is indeed beautiful.
I really like the pop of iridescent green on the wings. The ducks are in nice proximity to one another.
Part of me wishes the rear duck had both wings up but if he did then you would lose the green of the far wing.

Looking good Stu. Both birds stand out real well against that BG. Lovely looking detail on the birds. Well done.

I love everything about this one but for the near-wing position of the rear bird. But, I have no solution -- if the rear bird had both wings fully up the dorsal wing symmetry would be lost ...
