I like the mouse in the talon here. And the warm light as well as the way you've brought up that lovely patterning on the underside but the highlights there look close to blowing to me. I think it would look better if they were pulled back a touch. Also not sure about the pose. As you say, the bird was being skittish but it might have been better in full wing stretch as it took off or none at all?
