    Default Sanderling After-Bath Wingflap

I had a small flock of Sanderlings bathing in shallow water in front of me the other day, which meant one thing: after-bath wing flaps! It was difficult to choose which one to point the lens towards, but this one gave me the best pose of all.

    Amazing shot.

I live the wing position and the perspective. Nice High key look

A big 'wow' for this. Really beautifully done and artistic. I like the hint of tone in the background as well as the overall idea behind the shot. Have you done anything special to get that background and the high key look? Text below image hard to read though (pale grey on my screen)

Love the pose and flap. The facial expression is nice as is the eye -- your eye work is really spectacular I'm always impressed with that the most on your images. Bubbles on the left are cool. TFS

    Hi Daniel,
A great image of the Sanderling. The clean white background makes a fine simplicity to the picture being not black and white but brown and white. To me the brown color in the water similar to the color on the Sanderling makes the fine composition.

This high key image ticks the boxes nicely for me - he looks almost angelic with the pose and it suits the high key treatment wonderfully. Something a bit different to normal and all the better for it.

Lovely. I think you got the SS spot on here. The eye is immediately drawn to the head and the flow of water looks amazing. A work of art.
