Default Preening is better when shared...

This image was taken in March while the pelicans were still wintering here in Dallas. ( I miss them...:() I like the light, it was a very nice morning. Might... probably would be better if the eyes were open... On the other hand I think the eyes closed lends a feeling of contentment.

Your comments & thoughts are always welcome....

Very nice light and preening. I would put the birds further to the right in the frame and sharpen them a tad more.

    Hi Steve,
Light, colors, and pose are all nice. Closed eyes do give that contented look. I'd even wish for the one on the right to have his closed a bit more. I agree they would look better more to the right side with the heads leading the eye from the URC down toward the LLC.

Very nice Steve, I don't mind the eyes closed at all, it suits the preening behaviour. Great exposure on the whites!

Wonderful symmetry, lovely soft light and color and a perfect exposure but with the eyes closed this one does not work for me...

Congrats. It's a beautiful composition, and no disturbing birds or else in the BG (I know how difficult that can be with these ones), the eyes seem not too be totally shut, at least not o the right pelican. Or am I wrong? I think it would have been better with either totally shut eyes or open eyes. Maybe you have more exposures.
