I know it's been said here that the only decent owl images are those with direct frontal eye contact. Still, I rather liked this Barred Owl taking a walk along his branch. Taken early one morning in February, in dim light, at Circle B Bar Preserve.

Full face shots of Owls undoubtedly have the potential to be stunning with their wonderful eyes, but there is much more to them as this shot shows well. I love the shape of their beaks, and they seem to have a way of showing off some personality somehow in a way other species can't.

Superb techs for the lighting conditions, my only wish was the nice warm light had hit the face.

    Nice work here Bill

I like that you are thinking differently with this capture. I don't mind images showing birds being birds really.
Lovely frame, I like the environment and you've retained nice details.
    Congrats!

Taking a stroll along the branch is just perfect. That spectacular early morning light, and his concentration in mid stride is wonderful.
