Another frame from the encounter I had with this very 'chill-out' guy which is a bit more 'fitting' for this months theme I think to my previous one. Taken very late afternoon so it was balancing saturated light, shadow and strong HL's which I just left to burn out in parts. Lying flat wasn't the issue to get the POV, however avoiding the blades of OOF grass was a nightmare.

    Thanks John & Bill.

Yes the encounter was one of the best Bill, both Jamie nor myself could believe just how cool this guy was, the patience and respect paid off. Doubt he will be as accommodating next year if we could ever find him/her.

Encounters like this just puts a spring in your step, we never stopped talking about it until we got back to Vancouver, a 50 min drive.

I am enjoying this image... wonderful detail in the face feathers. the dilated pupil indicates how dark it was at the time of capture. Thank you for sharing, Steve.

Really nice one Steve -- must've been unreal to be this close to such a cool customer. I like the huge pupil and the light highlights in the BG are neat. Great detail on the face. I like seeing the horizon in the eye. TFS

Thanks very much folks with the kind words, much appreciated.

No idea why this one SEO was so chilled and allowed us to spend so much time and at relevantly close quarters albeit using long lenses.

Nice to know Micheal it's inspired you to look through past images, it can often be very fruitful, as you are looking at things with a fresh pair of eyes and may have overlooked an image that transfers to be another 'corker'.
