Just before the sun ducked behind a cloud bank, shortly before sunset, this Common Tern was catching some nice light at Nickerson. About two weeks ago. Full-frame, but I moved the bird back in the frame a bit for comp.

Nice banking pose and light. Really like the tiered background. Details look very good. I have shot there in that light many times. I always find that it is very hard to find a balance to get proper exposure on the whites of the bird but still retain details in the blacks. I would try and pull some more out of the cap of the birds head.

Razor sharp, beautiful light, and a knockout BG. Like the bank and tail feathers fanned out.

Sweet pose, BG, details, light, catchlight and position in the frame. Very nice. Agree with Isaac re: pulling some more detail out of the black cap. TFS

Ooh, that's a beauty! Head is angled slightly away, but still OK for this pose. Wonderful image!

Beautiful flight shot with good details. HA is fine IMO.
I like the BG gradation as well, I feel the balance of sky and water fit nicely.

Stunning light here Bill and you made the most of it. Subject full of detail and a perfect BG to boot.
