I seem to remember that one of the Rocky movies had a fight that ended with both fighters knocking each other out (or something like that). These again are 2 of the three one year old cubs.

A splendid interaction between cubs and definitely a candid shot. Thanks for the post.

Hi Rachel, I like the interaction, albeit a bit to central for me. The framing works, but I do feel it's just too yellow in both cubs, but mainly the grass environment. Adjusting the Tonal Curve in ACR with the RAW will help and add some more detail/depth, but if you have time, then I would look at the colour which is an easy fix.

Lovely shot Rachel just look at the size of those claws already! Sorry if this sounds a little repetitive but the image looks a little too yellow to me (grass and cubs).

Thanks Jon. Steve and Jon, I had also looked at the yellows and done another version with the yellows reduced and also darkened the greens but thought it looked too flat/dull. Here it is so would like to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Like the interaction here and the detail on the cubs. I think the right one is winning or the left one is letting the other one win.

Rachel love the composition looks great, colours look better but something doesn't look quite right to me, is it perhaps the colour temperature?

Wonderful interaction captured here. You have a great eye for the moment. I liked the colour on the original version better. Overall it looks a trifle light to me. I suspect it's the pale grass heads that are making the image look light overall. Perhaps they could be darkened selectively. That would make the cubs pop from the frame a bit more?

Thanks Jon and Glenn. Jon, nothing else changed from the op other than reducing yellows and darkening the greens slightly. The WB is the same.

Glenn- I'm not sure if that will look natural.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Rachel, this was along the lines of what I was thinking. I have made a selection of the background only with about 5 pixels of feathering and darkened highlights on the bground by around 12% in Photoshop Elements. Note that I didn't spend a huge amount of time making the selection. With a little more care and tweaking the feathering, a reasonably convincing result could be obtained.

Glenn- Thanks for your efforts but I think you've gone too dark with the bg. Perhaps somewhere in between the op and your rp might work.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel
