Early yesterday, I travelled north, to a Highland Glen, to photograph Red Grouse. I came across this Buzzard as I was photographing perched Grouse, hence the slower SS.

Great BG and perch and bird! Love the feeling that he is launching himself over the precipice.
Seems to be some noise on the far wing.
I have never seen these birds in real life so that the following comment with a grain of salt- i see a magenta cast on the bird?
Gail
Beautiful bird, nicely shown. The take off pose looks wonderful, nice perch and background. I agree with Gail on the slight magenta cast. Thank you for sharing, Will.

Wonderfull moment of launch, William. Nice separation of the head from rear wing. Like the complimentary BG and the rock perch.

Nice BG, perch, wing position and look at the eye. Agree re: a magenta cast, also think maybe bumping the contrast could help a bit. TFS
Very dynamic pose Will. I love it with the hint of wing tip movement.
Well done mate
Nicely caught, William. As Akos said, I like about the movement in the wingtip.
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Good to see you back Akos

This is beautiful Will!! Love the take-off pose and the nice details and colors you captured. The BG, the rock, the pose, What more can you ask for. I really like this one and would be stoked, or as you say, chuffed to have this in my portfolio
