I love the low POV, and the calling pose is superb, but from my experience, the shot looks quite thin in its tones, I'd suggest at least boosting the blacks by a few points.

How sweet. Great hairdo, good calling pose. Beautiful calm water blending smoothly into background.

Very nice Gail. Great POV and pose. Open mouth looks great. It does look a wee bit thin, more contrast perhaps. Maybe its the light?

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for the extra set of eyes on this image. I didn't see the thin blacks until you mentioned it.
Here is my repost with blacks added. it definitely looks better!

The pose, details and background are all perfect. Set off by that green and calm water it is just beautiful. I actually think that you could add a touch more contrast or a bit more blacks to the neutrals of the bird.

Repost is a substantial improvement. Great pose and eye contact. The calm water, soft reflection, and pretty water add a lot to an already nice frame.

Add me to the 'likes' - a really striking image with how the pastels surrounding the bird. Also the way the background blends seamlessly into the water adds an almost ethereal quality.

Hey Gail, lovely image as usual. Mark me down that the repost is better. Beautiful bird, perfect head angle and background, I'm jealous. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Gail, excellent low perspective, and well timed to capture the open beak. I really like these type of images where the water seems calm and endless. Repost is a killer.

Lovely Gail, that BG, POV, relfection, the wonky hair and eye, and the very calm water are all excellent. TFS

Beautiful low angle, great soft light and I love the open bill and head angle. All in all, an excellent shot.
