    Default " Air Brakes "

From a week ago at Nickerson Beach. The Common Terns give another meaning to "Air Brakes". It's amazing how they can stop in mid air on a dime, and drop straight down into and under the surf. Equally as impressive is how quickly they reappear with a fish and take flight. C&C welcome.

Nice work, don't know how you could improve the image. Blacks and whites, wing position, background all about perfect. Thank you for sharing.

Great wings-up position as he prepares to dive into the surf. Good detail in whites, and visible eye.

I like the wing position and nicely controlled whites. I do wish the head was turned slightly towards us with a bit of life in the eye.

Hi Geoff, nice sharp detail, and overall well exposed. Well positioned in the frame, and I like the hint of surf in the BG. Another vote for wishing his head was turned slightly more towards you.

    Love this.
The whites look awesome. Great wing position and I love the dangling feet,
I would enhance or add the catch light in the eye,

Great looking image Geoffrey. I love the detail on the bird. Flight pose looks good, and a great BG.

I love the super cool ocean surf background! I do wish the body was angled more towards us, but all else looks good. Nicely done overall.
