Actually, this big silk moth (Polyphemus Moth) was desert for some young nestlings in a nest box this adult was standing on. The flycatcher parents came up with all manner of insects to feed the brood, lots of fun creating these close-ups!

Great looking bird against a perfect background. Love the moth. Amazing that they let you get so close. Also amazing how even at f9 you have such a shallow depth of field and how much of the bird is not in sharp focus. But I like shots like this very much as they pull you in to the eye. I'd love a shot like this.

Wonderful catch, both for you and the bird! Love the definition in and position of the moth's wing.

Great color coordination between the flycatcher and the moth. Neat capture.

Hi Dan, a great catch for the Flycatcher, and you have brought out excellent detail on the Flycatcher's face and eye. Imagine those coloured wings on your subject.

Great eye contact. Razor sharp where it needs to be. Love the splash of color the moth adds to the frame!
