Hi Sanjeev, like Rachel's cubs, this too has the lovely 'cute' factor and the blade of grass over the paw is a lovely touch. Nice angle and I like the way the cub is running diagonally across you, good choice of format too. 1/5000 is perhaps a tad overkill, but I don't think it has hurt the image, rather have more SS than less. Personally I would keep the HL's in the mane and not burn or reduce the exposure, it adds character and if blown so be it IMHO.

Overall the image has the same issues as previous ones and to me, it's about a third of a stop under, again is this processed before you calibrated, as it does have a baring I feel Sanjeev on feedback? If it's after then your calibration perhaps is out? I also feel getting a better WB does help overall to build on the basic platform, again just my take Sanjeev:

    - Increasing the Exp
    - Adding a hint of Contrast
    - Opening the shadows
    - Adding some Saturation

You can get more detail/clarity from the FG grass, I actually blended your original colour with mine because the Mara does have that reddish grass. If ethics allow, loosing the branch behind helps, but not a deal breaker.

Hope the attached helps in direction.

    TFS
    Steve

Thank you Steve. Yes this was before calibration. I was afraid to lift the shadows too much. Your RP is awesome. Liked it. Thanks for showing the way. Yes the Mane was blown a bit which I did try to recover. It was such a joy to see the cub & all the cheetahs.

Thanks Sanjeev, good to know, as it does help when viewing and folks can then take this into account.

No need to be afraid, as the changes are non distraction so you can always go back without harming the image. If it's well exposed and you do need to slightly lift the shadows you should be good but try to do it in the raw. It's at higher ISO and badly exposed is when you start to have issues. Always try things, you have nothing to loose

Hard when the main body was is shade, but personally I don't mind it, personally I quite like it. You could have changed your metering to Partial, which may have helped as the subject appears (to me) that the light was coming from the RHS and so the LHS was in shade, however without seeing the RAW I'm second guessing.

A cute pose here, Sanjeev - love it when they are this fluffy.
I like Steve's repost - good to note the colour difference with a comparison too.

Hi Sanjeev - Definite cuteness factor and the pano crop works for the walking pose. Steve's rp has taken this where it needs to go. If it were me, I would revisit the images processed before the calibration.

    Rachel

Cute moment well captured Sanjeev, the leading paw and determination on the face make this for me.

This little guy looks awesome with all that hair standing up. I don't know about the crop.

    Hello Sanjeev,

This is a very special frame, well seen and captured and great timing too!

I am happy with your comp here. And very pleased with Steve's RP. The light might not have been in your favour but everything else was - superb pose from this little one and the PoV is great, love that raised paw, those fine hairs of the mane, determined look on the cub's face. Looks like we can now divide your recent images into two categories: "before calibration" and "after calibration", LOL. I would be smiling now if I wasn't guilty of the same offence, so I am off to calibrate my monitor before I process anything:)

I really took pleasure viewing, keep them coming my friend

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Beautiful cub and I love the lighting coming through the mane, it really livens the shot up. Good running pose, PP techs already covered by the others
