    Default Purple Gallinule

I captured this image last year at the end of June at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The Purple Gallinules were in the Fire Flag plants feeding on the blossoms. This year the plant is about two months late in flowering because of the drought this winter and spring when all of the smaller ponds dried up. Looking forward to later this month for the Purple Gallinules again. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Hi Joe, These are most beautiful and unusual creatures, and you got him on his favorite plant. Like him in the climbing stance and good eye contact. Small nit might darken the highlights on the legs and feet.

I love this.Great perch, good clear view of the entire bird and a great color palette and comp.
i might try to sharpen that long toe on the birds right foot(DOF issue),

Like how the vertical pose of the bird is mirrored by the leaves. The OOF toe looks more like a problem with motion blur to me, but I could be wrong. I would like to see a bit more canvas above the bird and I'd also move the bird further to the right in the frame.
