Oh no not another Puffin, this one is different it has no fish Most of the baby Puffins (pufflings) on the Isle of May, have left their burrows now, and that will be them, into the ocean for 4 years before they return. They run to the edge of the cliffs and jump some 400 feet, into the sea, during the hours of darkness, to prevent being attacked by the island's top predator, The Greater Black Backed Gull. Puffins mate for life and return to the same burrow, where they lay a single egg. When you see them carrying fish, this is them returning to the burrow to feed the chick. I would have liked a better wing position here, I liked how the sea and sky merged.
Great shot Will! Nice detail under the wing too and I also was struck by the sky/sea boundary and how well it works here. Happy to see more Puffins if they're like this.
I never get tired of puffins!
What makes this image really nice is the blues in the BG.
Tack sharp.
I am guessing the slight yellow color cast under the wings and belly is from the vegetation below?

Hi Will, great intro about these guys - I have never seen one, so seeing and photographing them one day would be great. Overall, nice and sharp, and the sea and sky blend in together perfectly.
