(See previous posts.) After leaving the nest, the female swam out some 20-30 yards where the male was hanging out. They appeared to exchange inaudible (to me) greetings, and then he, shown here, came in toward the nest.

I agree with you here Bill regarding the position in the frame - much nicer. I also think the added water droplets do no harm whatsoever - good call with the pano crop as well
I do prefer the framing in this one, nice balance of foreground and bg.
The loons greeting call is usually very soft, one or two notes, a gentle hoot, and easy to miss unless it is very quiet area (which normally is for loons, but obviously not in this spot!) They don't always give a call when they meet. It is the same call they use for the chicks at times.
