    Hi All,

    This backlit image was taken at Nickerson Beach when American Oystercatcher was trying to protect its chick from Gulls.


    Nikon D500, 500mm f/4 + 1.7x TCII
    ISO 1250, f/6.7, 1/800 sec

    I like this a lot and congratulate you on working in a difficult situation like this. I think you've pulled it off really well. I especially like the bill and the highlight at the back of the neck.

    Pretty cool shot. Pose is very nice with the open beak. I think the problem with this shot is that you are sort of between shots. There is not enough back lighting with strong and colorful light that causes that typical bright rim around the bird. So it kind of has the feeling of a shot taken in low light as opposed to a classic back lit shot.
