The BG is field and a red metal sheep shed.
In Iceland, there are very few trees so the only perches for birds are large rocks, boulders and fence posts and other man made structures.

The quality of the perch aside, I do find this image very very pleasing, Gail. I really like the placement of the bird against the red OOF shed (instead of on the greens) but I find the sliver of blue on top a little distracting: either more or nothing at all. Of course this is very subjective. The light is beautiful!

Great looking image Gail! The pose, details and exposure look great but that rainbow BG is just fantastic!! The weathered post looks good to me also just wish it wasn't so flat on top. Very nice image

I think you found the pot o gold my friend! I really like the fabulous unique background and that perky look as we wait for him to shoot himself up like a rocket. His claws are like rocket boosters and he is ready to explode up up up!!!

Beautiful colors and light Gail. I also like the way the bird is displayed against the red.

Spectacular rainbow effect. I personally think the blue adds to the overall effect. Very well seen and executed.

This bird looks like the gold at the end of the rainbow Love the pose, perch, HA, feather detail and of course those lovely colours throughout. You got it all here Gail, well done.
