I got rather close to this one, infact, rather too close, I clipped the bottom wing. It is just about full frame. I cropped some from the upper wing, but couldn't do this, without cropping the tail, which I wanted to keep. I thought that having the whole wing on top, unbalanced the image.

Clipped wings are tough to handle but I think this works pretty well. I agree it would be better with the whole tail but I prefer this crop over one with just a single wing clipped. Details look nice and a very nice BG as well. I like the diagonal composition and the clutched talons and focused eye. TFS

I love the BG colors.Love the eye.
This is one of those images that is "almost" so good.
Tack sharp, good exposure, nice soft light but I so wish for the entire tail and wings.

Great looking callers and nice details also William. This one just misses the mark. Now that you had to crop the Wing, losing part of the tail hurts the image in my opinion. Pretty cool that you caught him this close though. Keep them coming

So close! Wonderful detail, pose, background. Don't you wish you could just tell him "Hold that pose while I remove the TC".

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Hi Bill, I had been using the bare lens, and put the TC on about 5 mins before that shot. No luck.
