California Gull? I'm not very knowledgeable on gulls.

Interesting nest image......really like the touch of color that the flowers add. The image seems a bit soft......wondering if it was a large crop. It would have been nice for a slight head turn and perhaps more room on the bottom. You can also post larger images.....up to 800 pixels on the longest size. This would certainly help in viewing the image and critiquing.

Hi,

Dark gray-black mantle, huge bill - I believe it's a Western Gull, which are actually much more common as breeding birds in costal California than California Gulls!
