    Default Common Terns

    Hi All,

This Common Tern image was taken at Nickerson Beach. This little fellow was shouting at everyone who came near to its nest and kept coming back to this stop to rest in between. I saw that and composed this shot.

I wish that I had shot this f/8 not at f/13. I was experimenting something and forget to change the settings.

Let me know your thoughts, comments and critiques.

    Nikon D500, 500mm f/4 +1.7x TCII
    ISO 1000, f/13, 1/1000 sec

    Thanks for watching.

    Thanks
    Krishna

Like the pose on the bird and the light. The background is pretty out of focus for being a f13.

Beautiful! I have no qualms whatsoever with the shot made at f/13 as the BG is pretty blurred out. Composition is very very pleasing, too!

    Hey Krishna,
Like the pose and BG color, I only wish the light angle was anything less than perpendicular to avoid deep shadows on the perch.

A very nice pose, and I like the eye level view. I think maybe you could back off the sharpening a touch and maybe get a little more detail out of the whites. BG works well with this shot, I don't think going to F8 would have improved things any

    What is f/13??? :)

Where did you find a rock at Nickerson?

Sharp with a fine image design and yes, much too much d-o-f ...

    Hi Artie,

f/13, ahh it was a typo in original post ... :)

This rock was found at the edge of common Terns Nesting colony.

    Thanks
    Krishna

Confused. It looks like an f/13 BKGR. I have never seen a single rock there :)

I shot this with an aperture f/13, I think I should have shot this with f/8

This was my first visit to that place. I absolutely love it, Thinking of going again next year as well.

Thanks Krishna. That's what I thought. I will be doing a Nickerson IPT next summer. Hope that you can make it.
