A Gray Treefrog hiding (not very successfully) in plain sight on an Ostrich Fern. Usually, they blend in much better than this. Canon 1DX II, 100mm macro. 1/160, f/16, ISO 400, KX-800 macro twin lite (diffused) as main light, hand held.

Really like this especially the composition with the frog low in the frame on the fern. Like the diagonal line of the fern.

Agree, a great shot with superb DoF. I like the composition too. I think this shot would have worked as well, or possibly better, if some of the fern had been OOF - it would focus attention on the frog.

It works for me, as well as being natural history it is a pleasant pattern picture. The lighting really is great and the DOF spot on.
I wonder would it have been possible to take the pic from 180 degrees, I mean face on as opposed to rear on - just curious.

Thanks for the comments John, Glenn, and Jon!

Jon - I hear what you are saying about a face on shot. In this particular case, it would have been quite difficult to maneuver through the adjacent vegetation to get the face on view.
